60% of the Internet's host computers are based in the United States.
The country with the greatest penetration of Internet users is Finland.

On the increase: babies being delivered at home...delivery of food to
homebound people...computer games for girls... a recent Gallup Poll:
86% report satisfaction with their personal life. (Up 4% since 1993!)

In the early 1970s, 1,000 soda cans required 164 pounds of metal;
now the same amount of soda cans require 35 pounds of metal.
A Boeing 757 burns approximately 30% less fuel per passenger
mile than the previous generation of jets.

Entrepreneurial success is more common than generally believed.
From a study led by researcher and business professor, Timothy
Stearns: more than 70% of start-ups tracked were still running
after the first year. "This long held notion that 80% of new bus-
inesses fail in the first year is just plain folklore," says Stearns.
